Composition for Dummies, is this a good book for begging composers?

I've been playing guitar for about a year. I have taken private lessons, along with DVD tutorials though. I was never taught to write a song of my own. I know all quarter notes half notes and so on. so I was wondering is this a good book for a songwriter first? ALL THAT IS COVERED?

I guess so, although I have not read it. Books mute are so popular and famous bet you are pretty good.
